I like the throw. I was going to suggest Amy Butler’s book Midwest Modern. She has some slip cover type things for inspiration. With all of your fabric-sense and stash you might have some cloth on hand. And, the book is really fun to look at.

I love throws on couches! I always have one. It adds color and protects your couch–the throw is easier to wash than the couch. hehee
