Tag! You are it.
November 20th
I love handmade tags for gifts. I think they often work much better than a card and use considerably less resources. I usually stamp sticky tags for the holidays but this year I thought I’d go with a parcel tag instead.
I used this tag as my example — which I made during one of my many scrapbook getaways at the Brennan house — to cut out 50 or so tags for upcoming gifts. The entire project took about 30 minutes and cost $2. Granted, they still need to be stamped and embellished, but they are a great canvas for that neighborhood bread project and the stack of presents needing to be wrapped. The alternative was a $40 box of tags from Staples. I’m a crafty frugalista.

P.S. The winners of the neighbor-bread tag contest are:
Lori: ‚ÄúBread for myself is a material question. Bread for my neighbor is a spiritual one.‚Äù — Nikolai Berdyaev &
Teresa “Prairie Girl”: “Bread – that this house may never know hunger. Salt – that life may always have flavor. Wine – that joy and prosperity may reign forever.”
Your tags are going in the mail this week! Thank you for all of your great suggestions.

I love that you make so many homemade gifts and exercise your creative talents constantly. And, you have such a generous spirit.
Love this idea!! Can’t wait to see what they look like all stamped and embellished.
What a great idea and I bet once you dress them up they look fab-u-lous!
Thanks, sweets. And I’m all about tags. I’ve quit buying cards – especially for kids.
I alternate years with another girl in my office taking home all the corporate chirstmas cards to recycle in one way or another – tags, small boxes, etc. Woo hoo for cheap or free vs. pricey and less creative!
What a great idea. I’ll have to whip some of these up this weekend!
I’m a scrapbooker, so I love making tags and about everything else I can manage. You can also find nice backgrounds on the net and put them into a picture editor. That’s how I usually make my tags as well. I’m very digital I suppose.
Keep inspiring me! I’ve got the index cards already, and the hole punch… And maybe I can get Esme to decorate them for me.
Once again another fabu idea! I have this stored away in my crafts to try file. Thanks Kelli!
How many hours are in a Kelli day? Because you do way too much to have only 24 hours in your day.
Handcrafted tags are a wonderful idea! I buy packs of plain white greeting cards for our resident artist (6yo son) to decorate. His friends and all our family love getting these unique cards.
This is a great idea:) Love it!!!!!
