Love your blog, but not your politics! Isn't it wonderful that we can all have different opinions and still enjoy each other. Hope HE can do a faction of the things he wants to accomplish.

I know, I am really happy/excited/hopeful at how it all turned out..My first presidential election..and I felt like I was really a part of something that is really important, and historic, and something I will be telling my grandkids about some day.. :)

Obama is up for a tough time in office, he has a lot of cards stacked against him, and we cannot let him fail. Both because of what he represents and because of what it would mean to our country and each of us if he did.

And when I say "what he represents," I don't mean his race. I mean his message that each of us can and must take responsibility for bettering our individual and collective circumstances. I believe that he is intelligent, thoughtful, openminded, deliberative, and in control. But didn't win just because he was qualified, he won because he inspired millions of people to believe that their work could help move the country in the direction of their ideals, and, crucially, acted on that belief.

People like Kelli, who want to make the world a better place, and don't just wish for it but roll up their sleeves and get to work, are few and far between. I hope that average people, whatever their political persuasion, take the message from this election that ordinary people have a great capacity to make change, and that they'll carry that message forward.

In short, Obama has reminded us that we CAN. It's up to us to make sure that we DO.

It's fantastic! Whatever happens in the future, everyone can agree that it is so amazing to think of MLK Jr's last speech where he speaks of the future that he will not see, and to hear BHO Jr.'s acceptance speech where he looks back to those days. I write this just a few miles from where MLK Jr. was jailed and am both amazed and in awe of what happened last night. I am so proud to be American in this moment.

11 weeks to go and so many decades in the making.

I cried last night. I cried in the car this morning. And I think I even saw Bubba shed a tear during his speech last night.

Welcome, new President, we've been waiting a long, long time for this.

The tears do not stop flowing, I am so overjoyed. I know we have a long road ahead of us but I am so happy to be an American again.

WE WON!!!!!!! Me and my friend-collegue Cinzia are very thrilled today about the election! We are gonna to celebrate on our lunch break! You know that here in Italy our governement follows step by step US Presidency orders (sigh) so a good President for you is a very good President for us as well. We hope a real change will happen, we all need it.
