New Duds for the Wee Ones
Do you have little ones in your life? Perhaps you are a mama, or an auntie or just a girlfriend with lots of friends who have children. While I don’t have any wee ones of my own, I’m “Auntie Kelli” to a couple of adorable boys and a friend to a gaggle of other little ones.
One gift I’m crafting this holiday season are embroidered T-shirts. I combine plain cotton T-shirts with a bit of underwonder, fabric and embroidery thread. Viola — a unique and sweet garment.
This gift is economical, practical and easy — my favorite kind! In fact, I’m hoping to craft up a few of these for a couple of the larger wee ones in my life too. I’d like one with stars dancing across the bottom. Or saguaro cacti waving their prickly arms at me from the pocket…

I have just read your food stamp challenge. I was near tears throughout because I teach in the barrio and my students are all living on foodstamps-or worse they don’t qualify or their parents are afraid to aply for a variety of reasons. Have mercy! I get a real glimps into poverty with the close relationships I have with my class, but I had no idea what the food situation was! YOu have really challenged me. I think in Jan. I will also try this. I also think that I am going to make a point to teach my students how to coupon. I mean it isn’t a state standard or a testable subject but if it can help them eat better… And- I am also going to pass out pbj for them to take home. We do provide meals at school, but if they can give it to someone else it might really empower them? Thanks for giving me so much to think about.

I have 3 aprons that my Mother-in-law has asked me to sew names on and I have been wondering how I was going to accomplish that task and make it look good. The wonderunder is a terrific idea. Thanks!

Not only is this a TERRIFIC gift idea, but it makes me wish that I weren’t completely hopeless with needle and thread. All Schecky’s shirts that have a spot or two on them? Spots that will NOT come out? Just cover up the blotch with a fab embellishment!
I may just have to overcome my fears and give this a try….

It’s a little scary though that I have both the poinsettia and the fish fabric in my own stash. We must have good taste!

Doggone it, I’m going to have to pick up some of that poinsettia fabric after all. I managed to resist so far, but it just looks so pretty in your featured projects…. You should be getting a commission from the fabric store! ;0)
