A Week of Thanks
Things I’m thankful for today:
1. Great weekends when I have time to both knit,
2. And bake.
This is 14 karat cake with cream cheese frosting for a friend’s birthday yesterday. I added extra pineapple because I could.
3. Rex.
JT took this photo for me on Saturday before the run and it makes me smile.
4. Real Simple, December 2006, page 54. My entry for “what is the best gift you’ve ever received” was selected. Sweet. There is such a selfish joy in seeing your name in print.
5. Thanksgiving week, my favorite week of the year!
~K

November 20th, 2006 at 9:18 amWhat don’t you do?
November 20th, 2006 at 9:32 amKnitting and baking, what could be better? I got half of the equation (knitting) in this weekend and was grateful just for that. Baking could have been dangerous for my already on the high side pregnancy weight gain, I suppose
Glad you had a good weekend and that picture of you and Rex is too sweet!

You will publish that page, won’t you? for the ones who aren’t getting a copy outside the States.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:39 amWe have so many things to be thankful for, but sometimes we forget about them. I’m glad this time of the year there’s something to remind us how blessed we are!
Sounds like a great, great weekend!
Knitting and Baking and Running, Oh My!
And congrats on the RS publication - I can’t wait to read it…
November 21st, 2006 at 3:11 am(I’m grateful for a reason to go and get my paws on a copy!)
so … what was your favorite gift??? (i don’t get the magazine … and this is what i get for not reading this post yesterday, as i was in a bookstore last night looking for magazines!!)
November 21st, 2006 at 1:28 pmGracie beat me to it, but I think a proper scan of page 56 is in order, because Real Simple hasn’t arrived over here yet. Or better yet, just buy an extra copy for me and give it to me in person in Dec. (can’t wait!) Don’t feel selfish or vain about posting it. We’re not taught enough in life to celebrate our successes, for whatever reason, but the truth is, we should do it way more often. YOU ROCK!
November 21st, 2006 at 2:51 pmBTW, I really like the photo with Rex. He looks like he is doing good, all things considered. Has he been following your blog at all?
My issue arrived today and I immediately went to your page:):) That is awesome!!!
November 21st, 2006 at 7:19 pmI would so love that cake recipe if you’re willing to share. In a budget crunch I cancelled Real Simple, but the crunch is over so I think it should be on my Christmas list.
That magazine always makes me feel relaxed and like I can do anything! I searched today, but it wasn’t on the newsstands here yet!! Can’t wait. So glad to hear that Rex is doing well. What an inspiration and a beautiful photo!
